#shineonstpete 2015 inaugural artist, @yalaford will also be painting a new mural entitled, ‘The Golden Wave,’ which is the inspiration for her latest student project. ‘Muralopia’ is a children’s book written by Ya and presented in collaboration with the #stpetersburglibrary and the @moreanarts. ‘Muralopia’ will showcase students from diverse families who learn the power of bridging their differences to create a brighter future in their community through art.

Look for #yalaford on the back of the #moreanartscenter September 2nd – 5th! It’s another #shinebrightidea.

Leading the #shineonstpete Community Mural, art mentors @chadmize and @olesonart team up with 10 students from #GibbsHighSchool and other local artists and educators to transform 600′ of concrete barricades along the #PinellasTrail starting at 20th Street S (off 3rd Ave S) during #LaborDayWeekend!

During #shineonstpete 2016, @peprallyinc and @engagecurrent’s Laundry Project will be bringing the #cleancampaign to a St. Petersburg laundromat for the first time!

CLEAN is a series of colorful laundromat murals aimed at delivering a positive message through the power of street art. CLEAN murals are painted in low-income communities where the #LaundryProject also provides free laundry services, children’s entertainment and more to turn laundromats into community centers.

It’s a #shinebrightidea! More details on dates and location soon.
